Eligibility

• Individuals looking to become technicians, mechanics, earn their CDLs or interested in other trucking industry professions
• Enrollment at a trade school, technical school, community college or university pursuing a career that supports the trucking industry
• Previous scholarship recipients may apply if eligibility standards are met
• Applicants applying for a TXTA Foundation Trade and Technical Scholarship must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. The award of any scholarship will be contingent on submission and approval of an I-9 Acceptable Document. A list of acceptable documents can be viewed here.

Requirements

•  This Submittable Application Form 
• Letters of Recommendation - one to three letters from non-familial sources, such as a supervisor, previous employer, or teacher. Recommendation forms must be submitted within two weeks of applicant submitting application. If your recommendation form is not submitted within two weeks, your application will not be considered. 

Application Review

Applications are reviewed by the TXTA Foundation Board of Trustees; scholarships are awarded based on personal narrative, financial need as well as other qualifications. Scholarship funds will be mailed directly to the school upon verification of enrollment; funds may be used to meet such expenses as tuition, books and housing. Applicants can apply for up to $2,500 from the TXTA Foundation for Trade and Technical Scholarships.
